Sinister 2, although following the same basic elements as the first film in the franchise, differs in many ways from the first film. It was inspired by Stephen King's Children of the Corn and gives more personality and character to Bughuul, Deputy So & So and the possessed children. According to the filmmakers and the official trailer, the snuff films and found footage become much more elaborate and creative than in the first film.
